Perkasie Borough Office of
Emergency Management (OEM)
The goal of the Perkasie
Borough Emergency Management Agency is dedicated to prepare for and respond to,
if necessary, the many types of emergencies that could affect the
citizens, businesses and government located within the borough, as well
as any adjacent municipalities that request assistance. This involves
careful consideration of potential hazards and their effects, minimizing
any adverse effects by planning, mitigation and public education,
understanding and preparing for response and recovering from an
emergency event (Emergency Management Primary Goals: Mitigation,
Preparedness, Response and Recovery).
The Office of Emergency
Management was established October 15, 2007 by action of the Perkasie
Borough Council under Ordinance #922 -
Perkasie
Borough Codes Chapter 10: Emergency and
Disaster Management.

Special Needs Registry
A partnership of the Bucks County
commissioners, Bucks County Emergency Management Agency and the Bucks
County Health Department have introduced a Special Needs Registry for
citizens who would have difficulty during an evacuation due to a
physical or cognitive limitation. The Registry is free and voluntary and
strictly confidential. This registry will be used by emergency
responders to help them make the best use of the limited time available
in an emergency to assist our special needs citizens.
You can access the Registry by going to:
www.specialneedspa.org for more information or to register .

PREPARE NOW so you can be found easily
in an emergency!

Perkasie Borough Code
Chapter 137 requires numbering of residences within the borough. Go the
extra step to ensure your safety; make sure your numbers are easily seen
from the road from both directions in a moving vehicle! Reflective
numbers are excellent and help at night when many emergencies occur.

Students, parents,
teachers and staff members should anonymously report situations that may
put students in jeopardy at school by calling the Bucks County School
Watch Hotline 24-hours, toll-free at 1-877-888-7140.
The hotline is intended
to help keep schools safe by notifying local school and law enforcement
officials of potential acts of violence, theft, weapons on campus, drug
and/or alcohol abuse before they occur. Trained telecommunicators answer
the call, gather information and relay that information to the local
police department and respective school district officials. If you know
of or have heard of a threat to school safety, call the hotline!
* please note:
this is a reporting line only. It is not a public information line where
you will be able to obtain information on a school emergency situation. |
It happened at
Columbine High School and Virginia Tech; many dead and
wounded...
It DID NOT
happen at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High and Winslow Township High
(NJ) because someone made the call!

You can PREVENT
School Violence! |
